ICConnect
From the ICPortal web interface menu choice ICCONNECT the following options are presented:
- Integration - Integrate test case results with your Test Management solution.
- Configuration - General configuration settings.
- Exports - Export configuration settings.
- Logging - Show logging information.
Before you can use the ICConnect Integration application to integrate your ICDefine test case results with your test management solution, you need to configure some general settings and/or exports settings. These settings are discussed in the following paragraphs.
After completion of the configuration steps, you may continue to Integrate test case results.
Configuration
General Configuration
The following General Configuration parameters can be set:
- Logfile location - Click to specify the location of the integration logfile.
- Export service - Click to show the status of the application service that will handle the export of testcase information.
Logfile location
Specify the location of the logfile. It is a mandatory parameter.
Any integration errors will be logged in logfiles at this location.
Click Submit to enter the logfile location.
Choose Back to return to the General Configuration page.
Export Service
This page shows the current status of the TrendIC ICConnect Export Service.
Mark the Export test results checkbox to allow test case results to be exported.
Click Save to store your changes.
Click Back to return to the General Configuration page.
Microsoft Test Manager Configuration
Currently for the Microsoft Test Management tool, the following configuration parameters are mandatory:
- Connection - Click to open the Microsoft Test Manager Connection page.
- Credentials - Click to open the Microsoft Test Manager change credentials page.
- Projects - Click to open the Microsoft Test Manager Projects page.
Microsoft Test Manager Connection
Enter the Connection URL to the TFS server and specify whether to use Basic authentication or not, in order to be able to connect to Microsoft Test Manager.
Example Connection URL:
https://<servername>/DefaultCollection/
where <servername> is the name of the machine running the Microsoft Test Manager application.
Choose Submit to confirm the information.
Choose Back to return to the Configuration page.
Microsoft Test Manager Credentials
Fill in the User name, associated Password and Confirm password.
Click Submit to save these credentials.
Click Back to return to the Configuration page.
Microsoft Test Manager Projects
Click Add Project to show the Connect to your Microsoft Test Manager Team Project page:
Enter the desired ProjectName.
Click Create to add the projectname to your list.
Click Back to List to return to the Microsoft Test Manager Projects page.
Edit Microsoft TestManager Project
Here you may modify the ProjectName.
Choose Save when done, or click Back to list to return to the Microsoft TestManager Projects page.
Delete Microsoft TestManager Project
Click Delete to confirm the removal of the ProjectName.
Click Back to list to return to the Microsoft TestManager Projects page, without removing the ProjectName.
Exports
The ICConnect Export functionality facilitates the export of test case results to any Web service based Test management tool accepting transactions based on the REST (REpresentational State Transfer) API (Application Program Interface). Following examples are based on the defect management tool DefectSuite (see TesterSuite).
From the ICConnect menu choose Exports; this will open the Exports page:
Click Add export to add a new export:
Enter the Name of the Export, e.g. DefectSuite.
Select the Type of the Export; as this example is based on DefectSuite, select the entry Defect suite from the listbox. As a result the page will be expanded with some input fields to enter specific information for this type of export.
Mark the Active select box to allow the export of test case results.
Enter the Username and Password needed to sign on to the DefectSuite Web service.
Enter the Export Format if applicable.
Enter the Return Url, i.e. the Url of the DefectSuite web service.
The final result could look like this:
Click Save to store the export.
TestCases
Access to this page is restricted to the Web Integration administrator.
A list of all published CitraTest FT Test cases is shown.
The list can be limited by applying a filter:
- Enter (part of) a Test case or Segment name
or
- enter a Segment Reference number
and choose Filter or press the Enter key.
You can change the sort order of the Test case list from ascending (default) to descending by clicking the column header Test case name.
By clicking the column header Ref.Nr., the test case list will be shown in the order in which test cases were entered (published).
The column Status shows an indication of the last test result of the Test case, which is either
No run - the testcase has not been run yet
Passed - the testcase has completed without errors
Failed - the testcase has completed with errors
The Updated test results column shows the date/time stamp of the last test case run.
The Exported test results column shows the date/time stamp of the last export of the test case result.
Click the test case name for more information on the associated Test case.
Click Edit to change the details of the associated test case.
Click Delete to delete the associated test case information.
Click Export to export the associated test case test results.
Click Add test case to add a (new) test case.
Edit TestCases
This page allows you to change various testcase information, such as name and description.
You may also change test result information, e.g. Status, Error description, and such; we suggest to change this information only when needed.
Choose Save to save the changes you made.
Choose Back to list to return to the Test Cases page.
Export TestCases
Choose Export to export the test case concerned to your Test Management tool.
Choose Bak to list to return to the Test Cases page.
TestCase Results
A list of all Test Case Results is shown.
The list can be limited by applying a filter:
- Enter (part of) a Test case or Segment name
or
- enter a Segment Reference number
and choose Filter or press the Enter key.
You can change the sort order of the Test case list from ascending (default) to descending by clicking the column header Test case name.
By clicking the column header Ref.Nr., the test case list will be shown in the order in which test cases were entered (published).
The column Status shows an indication of the last test result of the Test case, which is either
No run - the testcase has not been run yet
Passed - the testcase has completed without errors
Failed - the testcase has completed with errors
The Updated test results column shows the date/time stamp of the last test case run.
In case a test case has failed, the Error log column shows (part of) the description, explaining the cause of the test case run failure.
The column Int.Active shows an indication, whether integration into the Test Management Tool has been applied.
Click the test case name for more information on the associated Test case results.
Click Integrate to apply integration of the associated testcase into the Test Management Tool.
Click Edit to change the (short) description of the associated test case.
Details TestCase Results
Following is a description of the detailed Test case results, including the Segment results.

You may choose Integrate to apply integration of the Test case into the Test Management tool.
Choose Edit to modify the Test case Short description and/or Description.
Choose Back to list to return to the Test Case Results page.
Click on a Segment name from the list of Segment names, to view details of the concerned Segment result.
Edit TestCase Results
Change the Short description and/or the Reference Description of the test case.
Details Segment Results
Below is a description of the details of the Segment result.

Choose Edit to modify the Segment Short description and/or Reference description.
Edit Segment Results
Here you can modify the Short description and/or the Reference description of the Segment.
Choose Save to confirm your modifications.
Choose Back to list to return to the Segment Results page.
Integrate TestCase Results
To integrate the CitraTest FT Test case results into Microsoft Test Manager, mark the Integration active check box. This will allow test results to be sent to the linked Reference number.
Next browse through the project tree at the left - expand or collapse the tree by clicking the small, white or black triangle respectively - until you reach the Microsoft Test Manager Test case that meets your CitraTest FT Test case.
Now, either drag and drop this test case into the Reference number field that corresponds with the CitraTest test case name, or drag and drop the individual, selective steps from this test case into the corresponding Reference number fields of the CitraTest Test case Segment names.
Note:
- A test case Reference number can be integrated only once.
- A Reference number cannot be used on both Test case and Segment level.
- Reference id's itself (<suiteid> <testid>) can be entered directly into the Reference number field. E.g. if the <suiteid> is 100 and the <testid> is 12, just enter: 100 12 in the Reference number field concerned.
Choose Save to confirm your entries.
Choose Back to List to return to the Test Case Results page.
Details TestCases
Following is a description of the Test case details, including its associated Segment names.

Choose Edit to modify various Test case and/or Segment information.

Click on a Segment name from the list of Segment names, to view details of the Segment concerned.
Segments
A list of all Segments of the CitraTest FT testcase is shown, in order of their occurrence in the testcase.
The column CitraTest segment name lists the segment name from the CitraTest FT testcase.
Click the Segment name for detail information on the segment.
Ref.Nr. lists the corresponding Microsoft Test Manager reference id.
The Segment short description is listed in the column Description.
The Status column lists the status (Passed, Failed or Not completed) of the segment.
Choose Edit to modify various segment information for the segment concerned, such as name, description or results.
Choose Delete to delete the associated segment.
Details Segments
The Segment details for the segment concerned are shown:

Choose Edit to modify various Segment information, such as name and description.
You may also change segment test result information, such as Status and OrderNr; we suggest to modify these only if needed.
Choose Save to save your modifications.
Choose Back to list to return to the Segments page.

Here you can modify various segment information, such as the Segment name and/or the Segment description.
You may also change result information, like Status and OrderNr. We suggest you change this information only when needed.
Choose Save to save your modifications.
